Sarasota Revival

Ephesians 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding ^F3 being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

(My Prayer) …

Lord, God our Father please let me receive Your Spirit of revelation and wisdom, that I may truly know You and experience Your fullness. God, I humble Myself that I know what You have for me and those connected to me. I do not have the fullness of wisdom that you possess and I ask you to give me your wisdom. Help me know the truths that are hidden from the fleshly heart and can only be found in Your presence and from an impartation that no man can receive apart from Your revelation.

Open my eyes God that I may know all that I place my hope in and all that You have in store for the future. God, let me obtain the power that you have for those who love You, not lacking in any area of devotion with a constant knowledge of Your working in my life. You are a mighty God who is able to do above and beyond what I can ever hope or dream of.

Help me to walk in the power and authority that You have for me today. Please show me Your power and keep me near to Your thrones glory.

1 Cor 1:25-26

We all have our plans and no matter how good those plans are sometimes God has different ones in store for us. God is so much better at making the decisions that it really helps when we hear from Him and take the time to allow Him to guide our choices. God wants to work mightily in each of our lives and in each and every church, so if it is not God’s desire to meet with us powerfully that is the problem, then it must be us getting in the way.

God doesn’t need the best the world has to offer to change our world. He just needs us to have His plan in mind not our own. You do not have to be anything special by worldly or church standards. You just have to be called and then follow.

Ok, so if you missed it last night, wow! I am not really sure of all the things that happened last night but cell was pretty amazing. I sensed a deep and passionate presence in worship and when the transition from worship to devotion time came the Joy of the Lord flooded the place.

We were laughing for about 20 minutes at just goofy stuff and we had fun! We talked a lot about John the Baptist and had some really interesting discussion.

Here are a few points we discussed:

1) How hard was it for John to see Jesus, then give him his leadership?

“and they left and followed him” the disciples of John (Andrew and Philip– I think) left John’s leadership circle and went to Jesus’. — Johns response… I must decrease so that he can increase… hmmmm probably not my first reaction… Kudos to John.

2) Guy brought up the point that Jesus said that John was a great man born of woman but the least in the Kingdom God is greater than John… Hmmm what is that about? (john 11:11 ish)

3) Chapter 4 of the Book– Faith seeing the unseen– We saw or we looked anyway at what it means to turn your eyes to the invisible. How did Jesus “see” what the Father was doing? What does it mean to have faith? And to bring the unseen to the natural? We talked about this stuff and Wow, we had some great answers!

ok, So that was a long, long time away from the craziness of the life in SRQ, but we are back, and now we are ready to get back in the swing.

Angela and I climbed a mountain, drove 40+ hours and saw lions, and tigers and bears, OH MY. And after that we discovered that while family is amazing, there is no place like home. We have been reading and resting and sleeping, (well me sleeping mostly.. she had the kids ;0)~ ) so now that we are rested we are ready to get back to the action of the life that is buzzing around here is Good Ol’ Sarasota.

It is so neat, We reflected upon all the people who we have connection with here and discovered that we have some friends who are pretty amazing. (Ahemm, that would be you who are reading this) we are so thankful for you and realize that we are a team, a good team and wow, there is really nothing that we can’t do together! thanks for being amazing. We love being your friends and cell leaders, neighbors, and church family members.

Wow, what a mind shift! Can it be that we are looking at this whole christian experience as something way more complicated tan it really is. It seems simple to say it, but wow, it is possible that the way that we have thought about this walk is changing? Is the real life where we have a opportunity to be like Jesus? Is this something that we will get to see?

Well according to the Word of God, and his prophets, yes. Yes it is. Bill johnson Says that this is is just a mindset that needs to be changed. On pages 27 there is some really motivating stuff!

So today much like any other day I went about my business. Well that is not entirely true. Today I was asked to preach at a “church in the park.” I have been a little on edge on because I have felt that this time was going to be something different, but I really wasn’t sure.

The week before my time I started getting these crazy Ideas about people getting healed and having “words of knowledge” for people in the group. So one can imagine I have been filled with anticipation and excitment for the day. At the same time I was thinking what if I got there and I called out the things that I saw and I was wrong.

Thats a fair question right? I mean what If I thought it was a “word of knowledge” and it was really just my imagination and I was just full of crap. That would be terrible embarassing right!? I mean who is going to listen to a bunch of preaching when I start calling out things and they are wrong? I know that I would check out if some one started calling out sickness and other stuff and when he called them out he was wrong. It is hard enough to believe it even if it is on the money, then we have our doubts if the guy speaking new ahead of time ect… But if he is wrong, he may as well just wrap up and leave.

So I hope now you see my inner struggle. I see what is happening in Lakeland, FL. and I see that God is moving there despite what all the naysayers think, I have been there and I saw with my eyes and touched with my hands. I want that stuff in my life. I want to see miracles, I and wonders. But I always think that they are for every one else.

Until today!!

Today I had the experience just like I saw in the dreams. I was preaching and I felt a nudge of info from the Holy Spirit and I called out what I saw. It was right on, then He gave another and I spoke it and it was right. After I preached people came up to me for prayer and I prayed with them. God healed one, he Deliver another from things that were oppressing her and then healed another. It was so Cool. I didn’t feel anything, but I just listened to the Holy Spirit and the people where touched by His power and grace! It was amazing!

So ya, it can happen to me. I have the feeling that this my be the first of many things that rock my world in this area. and you know what, all I did was just obey when He spoke to me. The pressure is off, it is not some mystical thing, it was simple and beautiful to see people touched by a Jesus who loves them.

I have often wondered about the saying take the time to stop and smell the roses. WHo had the time to even think that up? who had the time to plant those roses and who could wait long enough to wait for them to grow?

What century is that? I have three Jobs, I am a father of 3.5 and I still have no idea how that is all supposed to work. I do know that every time I blink the world gets a little farther away. How do we stop this train that is out of control? I don’t even have time to wait in the drive thru for a Starbucks Latte.
